Senator Ron Johnson has leveled serious accusations at the Secret Service and FBI, alleging a cover-up regarding the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump in Pennsylvania. According to Johnson, ballistics evidence points to multiple shooters coordinating the attack on Trump.
In an interview on Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo, Johnson said, “Was it one rifle? Was it more than one? I’ve seen some pretty interesting video on the internet by experts that does certainly call into question what the FBI is telling us about a single shooter.”
The senator announced an investigation into the incident and the alleged cover-up, urging all eyewitnesses with information to preserve and memorialize their observations. Johnson stressed the importance of bipartisan cooperation in uncovering the truth, saying, “Chairman [Richard] Blumenthal and I are dedicated to taking transcribed interviews with law enforcement and public — just members of the general public that were at that rally.”
Public Involvement and Eyewitness Accounts
Johnson has made a public appeal for anyone present at the rally to come forward with information. “If you took video, save it. Make a backup copy. We can glean things in terms of audio and in terms of where the shots came from,” he said.
He emphasized the necessity of preserving memories, as they can change over time or be influenced. “Members of the general public who were at that rally, no matter how insignificant your piece of information might be, it might lend to provide the full story of what happened, because the American public need to understand what happened here,” Johnson added.
The senator has expressed frustration with federal agencies obstructing his bipartisan investigation. He cited a peculiar incident involving a sniper team on the roof of the AGR building, who were the first to encounter the deceased assassin and were later instructed to send their photos to an ATF agent, who has since gone silent.
Investigative Challenges and New Evidence
Johnson also highlighted the difficulties in obtaining cooperation from federal agents, stating, “We are getting information from local law enforcement and we appreciate that. But unfortunately federal agents are saying ‘Well go through your congressional liaison.’ Again, that’s going to be unacceptable.”
He underscored his distrust of the FBI and Secret Service, referencing his experience with the Russian Collusion Hoax. “I wish I could rely and have faith in the FBI and Secret Service to do a truthful accounting of this but that has not been my experience with the Russian Collusion Hoax and for years dealing with federal law enforcement. We need completely separate and independent investigations and it needs to start now,” Johnson stated.
The senator referred to an audio forensics report that went viral on X following the shooting. The report suggests three different weapons were fired at the rally. The first three shots matched weapon A, the next five matched weapon B, and the final “acoustic impulse” came from a possible weapon C.
All evidence points to the event being an inside job by government and security agencies, rather than the actions of a lone 20-year-old who couldn’t hit a target from 50 yards away.
Our Take
Senator Johnson’s allegations are deeply concerning and suggest a significant breach of trust within our federal agencies. The possibility of a coordinated attack on a former president, covered up by those sworn to protect, is alarming and unacceptable. This undermines public trust in our institutions and erodes the foundation of our democracy.
The public deserves transparency and accountability. Independent investigations are crucial to uncovering the truth and restoring faith in our federal agencies. If these accusations hold, it’s a grim reminder of the lengths to which some are willing to go to manipulate power.
