An Angry Open Letter on Government Waste Being Exposed.

Written by Constitutional Nobody.

I have been biting my tongue for far too long. No longer. For decades, every American taxpayer knew there was government waste, fraud, and abuse. While the average working man could never prove it, whispers and jokes abounded.

A congressman makes $175,000 per year and walks out a multi-millionaire? Really? We can perform basic math. This is corruption, plain and simple. But we looked the other way, for the most part. We figured if you were lucky enough to get into Congress and try to help the American people, we’d let that slide—just a little. That was our fault. They never helped us.

The waste and corruption being exposed today are astounding, and it’s just the beginning. I can assume our wasted tax money will easily surpass the $1 trillion mark in the near future. If you’re not pissed off yet, you will be by the end of this post.

My Story Is Your Story

In the beginning, I joined the military. Not because I was a proud patriot, but because I was poor and unable to find a job. There was no fanfare when my peers and I signed up. In fact, the dozen other boys who joined with me had the same story—poor and unemployed. We were disheveled, broken souls sleeping on the floor of the airport before we left for who knows where.

After the military, when I was in my twenties, eking out a living was difficult, even if you earned a six-figure salary—which I did not at that time. Struggling was the norm for everyone in New York City, never mind the details. Think about that: struggling was normal.

As a naïve young man, I believed abortion was a perfectly fine form of birth control. Having the time to think about morals was a luxury I just didn’t have. All of my time was spent working to earn enough money to not fall behind. I was squandering my money on bills and taxes. “I can’t afford to have a kid, so just abort it,” I thought. My morals, it seemed, were based on my finances. And I was no idiot. It’s not like I was sweeping floors at an all-night diner. I was a member of Mensa and a computer programmer. I was worth something—or so I thought. But the onerous taxes and cost of living in NYC were crushing. Crushing to the point where I was forced to be selfish without even knowing why. I even worked two full-time jobs one summer just to save enough money to buy a house. But who would want to start a family with someone who works 16 hours a day? Conversely, who would want to start a family with someone who was broke? See where I’m going?

The government waste and corruption have been so massive that they have directly shaped our lives. Abortion is okay because I can’t afford to raise a child? Working two full-time jobs is normal? Wrong. And these are just two examples of how government waste affected my day-to-day life. There are countless more.

My life was robbed from me by government waste, fraud, and abuse. This is not hyperbole. I never had a family of my own because I could never afford it. Forty percent of my salary would go to pay taxes, and that’s just income tax! Add property taxes, sales tax, and every other tax—what’s left for me, let alone a family?

To this day, my friends who grew up in and left NYC (as I did) still struggle. And for what reason? Eighty percent of my friends, who are in their fifties, do not have children. And that includes myself. It’s not because we didn’t want kids, it’s because we were forced to become selfish because the government was sucking us dry every payday, and we all made over $100k a year at this point.

Savings? 401k? What’s that? Every time I got laid off I was forced to use that money just to get by. Unemployment insurance is virtually useless. Inflation seems pretty steady though.

Taxing hard-working Americans at usuary levels and then wasting that money is criminal. Stealing our freedom and forcing us to forego children just to keep the politicians rich and powerful is abhorrent. I cannot even imagine the countless poor decisions I’ve made over the decades just to stay financially afloat. If I think about it any longer, I will weep.

My point is this: all of the government waste, fraud, and abuse are shaping everything we do—and for the worse. Think about it. When did tipping the sandwich makers at Subway become a thing? Or the baristas at Starbucks? When did donating to some charity at the Walmart or McDonald’s checkout become normal? Tipping and charity requests are everywhere now because people cannot survive on a basic salary. Why? Because we’re being bled dry by our government so the politicians and their cronies can get rich.

Who is to blame? We all know the answer to that question—everyone in government, from the tippy-top to the swampy bottom. All the big shots in government promise their big donors money and favors by selling you out, and then the swamp grows. I won’t bore you with the details, you know how it works. Thanks to President Trump, Elon Musk, the entire DOGE team, and the genius and hard work of @DataRepublican, we can finally see proof of the corruption, among other things.

Trump, Elon, DOGE, and the Future

President Trump is a boss. He survived the swamp, two impeachments, a fraudulent election, endless lawsuits, and two assassination attempts. He promised to clean up the government, and he’s doing just that with the help of Elon Musk and his team.

Imagine if Trump and Elon fully succeed. Government bloat goes away. No more tax on tips. No overtime tax. No income tax. Property taxes may disappear. No corruption and waste in government. Just imagine. This is what pisses me off the most, ironically. I’m now in my mid-fifties and on disability. My time has come and gone. As much as I want to, I will never be able to enjoy this new, Golden Age. The government failed me by not allowing me to grow at a reasonable pace. Their waste was rampant, and that waste needed to be fed by more and more of my hard-earned tax dollars.

If Trump, Elon, and DOGE fully succeed, the future will be wide open for everyone in this next generation to succeed financially, which in turn means their families will thrive. No longer will young adults have to worry about starting a family or working endless hours just to survive. Difficult decisions shaped by finances will fade away. The American Dream will be reborn. I’m really happy for them, should all of this come true, but for me, I feel like an aging, used-up whore living in a cheap motel. I’ll never have any glory days to speak of to my nonexistent family.

Incidentally, I wrote this after returning from a Denny’s breakfast while sitting alone at the counter. Two eggs, hash browns, and a cup of coffee. $28, including tip. Did I mention I was on disability? The past administrations can kiss my ass!

Thank you, President Trump, Elon Musk, and @DataRepublican on X (DataRepublican.com). May your families grow and thrive in this beautiful new Golden Age you’re all creating for the next generation of Americans. Sadly, mine won’t.
